To design a 1-bit comparator and study the performance of 4-bit comparator IC 7485.
Theory
Comparator: Compares two binary numbers (A and B) and determines their relationship.
- Outputs: A > B, A < B, A = B
IC 7485 is a 4-bit magnitude comparator.
Procedure
- 1-bit Comparator: Design using XOR, AND, NOT gates.
- 4-bit Comparator: Use the IC 7485 block. Apply two 4-bit numbers. Observe the status of Greater, Lesser, and Equal outputs.
